This desirable sports-tourer V-twin 1929 Royal Enfield 1000 cc motorcycle has an Irish history, it has been originally sold in Ireland, nicely restored some time ago, still retaining its original engine and frame numbers - it is a highly correct and original specimen, fair to say a collector's bike among British "golden age" from the 1920's.
The Royal Enfield starts easily, runs and rides fine with a very characteristic great sound thanks to the double exhaust pipes with fish tail ended mufflers.
The Enfield is equipped with an Amal brass carburettor, Sturmey Archer three speed hand-change gearbox, full electric Lucas lighting system - with original front an rear lights, Terry sprung seat and a useful steering damper at the handlebars. Lubrication of the engine is provided through an own manufactured Royal Enfield automatic meachnical oil pump.
Characteristic features of the Model 182 were the nice smaller sporty fuel tank (later they went on with bigger examples) and the huge 8 inch font- and rear brakes, called 'Enfield hubs', which provided the machine extra reliabilty for safer riding. These Enfield hubs were also favoured among other quality British manufacturers, such as Norton, Zenith, Coventry Eagle or even Brough Superior.
Documentation consists of Irish road registration documents. Video about the Enfield running, on request.
