George Townsend & Company - founded in Redditch, Worcestershire, in mid-Victorian times and moved into bicycle manufacture and by the turn of the Century had been re-organised as the Enfield Cycle Company, makers of the 'Royal Enfield'. By 1904 the firm was concentrating on car production, resuming motorcycle manufacture in 1910 with a v-twin Motosacoche-powered lightweight.

Throughout the 1920s and 1930s the firm manufactured a range of bewildering and fast-changing variety, at the pinnacle of which was the Model K, a large-capacity v-twin intended primarily for sidecar use. JAP-powered v-twins had been a feature of the range since 1912, but from 1925 Royal Enfield's own engine was used.

Displacing 976cc at first, this sidevalve unit was stretched to 1,140cc for export models only from January 1933 and became available in the home market at the start of 1937 production.

This attractive all original 1000cc V-twin was sold from the factory to Denmark. The motorcycle has original Bosch electric lighting with Bosch magneto ignition which was often used on European models. The Royal Enfield has an original  kilometer working speedo, a saddle with original leather, and more very authentic nice small details. The massively powerful motorcycle works perfectly and runs cleanly.
The motorcycle has old Danish road registration documents.
