This extremely original and rare V-twin 1921 Sunbeam motorcycle combination is a nicely patinated older restoration.
It is fitted with the largest capacity 1000 cc engine from JAP, Sunbeam's own manufactured three speed hand change gearbox, Splitdorf magneto and a Brown and Barlow carburettor.
Being a premium gentleman's motorcycle in its time, the secondary chain is in a case made of sheet metal, as the primary chaincase being cast from aluminium, resulting a totally enclosed chain drive. The front forks are equipped with leaf springs, other solutions for suspension are the sprung seats for driver and passenger as well. Lubrication of the engine is provided by a Best-Lloyd oil drip-feed system, braking is concluded through bicycle type front and drum type rear brakes.
Further equipments include complete Lucas acetylene lighting set, period lady's passenger seat, wind shield for the sidecar, tax disc holder and toolboxes. All levers on the handlebars are correct originals with dull nickel platings.
The beautiful sidecar fitted has a wooden manufactured body, the Sunbeam was probably originally sold in a dealership as a complete motorcycle combination.
The motorcycle is in a running condition and has British and EU road registration documents.
With its fine details and outstanding originality, we can easily say that this Sunbeam outfit could be a jewel for any antique vehicle collection.
